I would highly recommend taking a whale-watching excursion while in Riviera Nayarit. Whales migrate through this area from December to April,  taking time to let the young grow stronger. We went out on a comfortable catamaran called the Ally Cat and spent most of the day searching for whales and cruising the coast. We were lucky that when we stopped the boat, several whales spent time swimming all around us.

When the crew dropped a microphone into the water we could hear the whales singing. While they can’t guarantee that you will see whales, December is a prime month for seeing them. This was a great day!
