This month’s photos are from our January 2020 trip to Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania. I’m grateful for the assistance from Kensington Tours, our guides, and the properties where we had amazing experiences.

Wander Wednesday
“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien
This photo of sleeping lions in the middle of the road comes from our day at the Ngorongoro Crater Park in Tanzania. I had been very excited to visit this park after reading about it in various books on Africa. Unfortunately, we encountered several scenes like this where the tourists overwhelm the area. It’s really no different from people stopping to see the bison in Yellowstone; I just didn’t expect this on safari! We stayed at Gibbs Farm, a wonderful property near Ngorongoro and Manyara Parks. I would highly recommend Gibbs Farm for a few nights with day trips to the Crater and Manyara park. To maximize time at the Crater, I recommend staying at the rim-there are several very nice properties there.
