2024 is rapidly coming to a close, but there is still plenty of time to get out there and explore.
Be kind and be safe! Enjoy the rest of the year!
This month’s photos are of animals we’ve encountered in the wild!
Wander Wednesday
“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien
At the opposite end of Australia from the Koala photo, we saw this flatback turtle making her way up a remote beach in the northern Kimberley region to lay her eggs. Flatback turtles nest every 2 to 3 years, so we were very lucky to see her. They can live up to 50 years. We watched the turtle scoop sand with her flippers to create a nest. We didn’t wait to watch her lay eggs, as this is a slow process and we didn’t want to disturb her. This photo is very zoomed in-we didn’t get that close to her!
