Venice Italy Boat and hospital entrance

This month’s photo is another one from Venice-it is such a unique city! I was on my way to the Venice airport (on a waterbus) when I snapped this photo of the emergency room entrance. You can see it’s an enclosed docking system with the ambulance boat waiting for the next call.

In Venice almost everything is delivered by boat, from people going to their hotels, construction materials delivered to working sites, packages and mail to distribution hubs, and garbage to the dump. Look out for other ways life has adapted to this unique marine environment. Not new to them, but new to us!
