Wander Wednesday
Not all those who wander are lost-J.R.R. Tolkien
Today is National Amelia Earhart Day. She was born July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas. A pioneering aviatrix, she was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, in addition to being the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to California. On her historic around-the-world flight, she and co-pilot Fred Noonan disappeared in the South Pacific in 1937. No remains were ever found. As one of the most famous women in modern history, her story still fascinates us.
