2024 is rapidly coming to a close, but there is still plenty of time to get out there and explore.
Be kind and be safe! Enjoy the rest of the year!
This month’s photos are of animals we’ve encountered in the wild!
Wander Wednesday
“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien
We end this month’s animal photos with one from the Arctic Svalbard archipelago. We were lucky enough to be cruising the Alkefjellet cliffs in the Hinlopen Strait, observing the nests of the Brunich’s Guillemots, when we spotted a female polar bear looking for food. The huge cliffs dwarf this bear, which can weigh up to 700 pounds. We watched from the safety of the zodiacs for about 45 minutes. Luckily she stayed on land, rather than taking a swim. It was just an amazing sight. We loved our Arctic Cruise with Quark Expeditions, who made these experiences possible.
