Lacquer paintings are a Vietnamese art form. Crafters hand-cut pearl and eggshells and set them into wooden backings to make elaborate pictures.  The process is lengthy and painstaking, and the attention to detail is remarkable. This is definitely something to bring home after a trip to Vietnam.
