Wander Wednesday

“Not all those who wander are lost.”- J.R.R. Tolkien

The Covid-19 pandemic prevented us from traveling the world the way we used to. While I am not advocating that you travel now, if you choose to travel, please heed government guidelines for health and safety. Be sure to check the health situation in the place you are going and be prepared with appropriate supplies. Remember the health measures that you take to protect yourself also protect those around you! If you can’t travel now, you can still dream about where to go when you can!

This month I’m showing photos of our travels to interesting places related to special November days.

November is Native American History Month.  This photo is of Fall Creek Falls, in Llano County, Texas.

Native American groups such as the Comanche and Apache (and dozens of others) used this area for hundreds of years. Archaeological digs conducted before dam construction down river unearthed middens, burial grounds and many artifacts dating back several thousand years.

This brief article describes some of what was found.

Search for Native American history wherever you live and honor those who came before us.
