The Albuquerque (New Mexico) International Balloon Fiesta takes place in early October every year. There are so many balloons taking off at once, it is a magical sight. You can participate in a crew to help inflate the balloons as well as go for a ride in one. Look for the specialty balloons like Smokey The Bear, the Pitcher, and the Wells Fargo Stagecoach.
